Panama’s Foreign Minister is in Mexico to attend a migration summit

The Panamanian advisor is accompanied by the Director of the National Immigration Service, Samira Gonzain.

The Isthmus State authorities stated that so far this year, more than 420,000 irregular migrants have passed through Darien.

They also warned that this wave of migration has pushed the Panamanian state’s reception and assistance capabilities to their limits, estimating that the numbers may reach half a million people by the end of 2023.
