Upon meeting her inspiring teacher, Miss Honey (Lashana Lynch), Matilda energizes and begins to conjure up her tall tales. Excited to attend Crunchem Hall, Matilda is shocked to discover that the school is an evil and oppressive place run by the huge and sinister Miss Tronchatoro (Emma Thompson).
Directed by award winning Tony Matthew Warchus (Matilda the Musical), the film is produced by Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan for the working title, and John Fenn (Billy Elliott) and Luke Kelly for Roald Dahl Story.
