In the regular session corresponding to the month of September, the University Board of Directors of the Union of Developed Countries approved the appointment of Dr. Maribel Martinez Diaz, as interim director of the College of Medicine, by virtue of the fact that for health reasons, Dr. Ismail Francisco Herrera Benavente, Director of the College, will be absent from its activities.
The session was chaired by Dr. Alejandro Javier Zerminio Guerra, President of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi, and the session was attended by advisors and students of the university’s faculties and campuses.
Regarding the appointment of Dr. Maribel Martinez Diaz, Dr. Zerminio Guerra explained that the Technical Council of the College of Medicine considered it appropriate to request the appointment of Dr. Maribel Martinez to cover the period of temporary absence of Dr. Ismail. Francisco Herrera Benavente, who was approved. Dr. Martinez Diaz was the Secretary General of this academic entity.
In public affairs, each of the principals, as advisors, teachers and college students, expressed to the plenary session of the Board of Directors the need to continue the gradual return to the classroom face to face, without diminishing their caution in matters of hygiene and safety, to continue their education without compromising the quality of education.
As part of the session, Rectory presented an initiative to reform various articles of the foundation’s articles of association, which were approved.
At another point on the agenda, the Visual Communication Research Institute requested the award of Professor Emeritus to Dr. Gustavo Ramirez Flores, as well as approval of the Institute’s bylaws. Both apps are approved.
On the other hand, the General Secretariat presented the list of recognition of the academic staff of the institution. Similarly, the Secretariat for Research and Postgraduate Studies, as well as the Coordination of Innovation and Application of Science and Technology (CIACYT) have requested approval of the Postgraduate General Regulations and Bylaws, respectively.
The Academic Secretary has requested approval and acceptance of the UASLP Distance Learning Form, as well as reforms to faculty regulations.
At another point in order, the Department of School Services submitted approval for requests to issue diplomas according to specialization, masters and doctorate degrees, while the Pensions and Retirement Committee presented its views.
