Manchester United will play in Las Vegas for the first time this summer against Germany’s Borussia Dortmund.
The two famous football clubs will meet on July 30th at 6pm at the Allegiant Stadium.
United stars Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes and world champion Lisandro Martinez will participate in the exhibition match. The Dortmund team is led by American star Giovanni Reina, Julian Brandt and German legend Marco Reus.
“We’ve worked with the manager and his staff to provide a mix of competitive opponents to play against during our tour of the US, and we’re looking forward to the match against Borussia Dortmund,” Manchester director of football John Murtaugh said in a statement. . “As well as gaining valuable playing time, the team will also take part in training camps within the best available sporting facilities, giving our players the opportunity to recover before the start of the new Premier League season.”
The Las Vegas match is United’s second stop in the United States on their summer tour, with the team facing Wrexham AFC in San Diego on July 25. Tickets for that match sold out in a matter of days. Preparations for the announcement of the match began earlier in the year, when it was announced that United would be playing in Las Vegas this summer.
“The response we’ve had from fans since announcing we’re returning to the US has been incredible,” Geoff Johns, CEO of match promoter TEG Sport, said in a statement. “We already have a full house for the match in San Diego and I’m sure the same will happen for this match in Las Vegas.”
The Las Vegas match marks the first visit of Borussia Dortmund to the United States since 2019 and the fourth in its history, as its first trip took place in 1954. The countries that have the first contact with the European football elite.
