The meeting took place in the Miraflores Palace, seat of government, where President Jorge Rodríguez, president of the National Assembly, was accompanied; Representative Nicolas Maduro Guerra and Hector Rodriguez, Governor of Miranda State.
Gustavo Duque, David Oscategui, Muriel Rodriguez, Manuel Ferreira, Pablo Zambrano and Roséris Toro featured in the opposition group.
Rodriguez said in statements to the press that these meetings are fruitful and extensive dialogues to be able to exchange views, positions and proposals.
He noted that tonight’s meeting was important with an emerging opposition politics organization growing in efforts to build in various municipalities and states in Venezuela.
The Head of Delegation to Mexico’s Dialogues with the Unified Platform (PU) also indicated that the Chair listened with interest to the economic, political and social proposals made by the leaders of Fuerza Vecinal.
Consider this an important message for the whole country, regardless of the deep differences and very different way of thinking between that organization and the Bolivarian Revolution.
The legislator also indicated that he was informed of the important social agreement signed in Mexico with the European Union, which aims to support and assist efforts in the field of health, education, electricity, water and risk mitigation.
He stressed that it was a very productive meeting and had an important time given the number of issues that were taken up.
For his part, David Ozcategui, a spokesperson for Fuerza Vicenal, said that they saw an opportunity to accept the call for dialogue because they touched on several important points such as the release of political prisoners, the possibility of voting abroad in 2024, and saving the public. services, among others.
He stressed that they chose dialogue in Mexico City, where its achievements allow achieving a comprehensive solution for Venezuelans in the short term.
Uzcategui stated that they expressed all this firmly but with great respect.
The Head of State had earlier received at the Government House the leaders of the opposition sectors Alianza Democratica and Alianza del Lapez.
