LONDON (Reuters) – Liz Truss, the preferred candidate for Britain’s next prime minister, wants to examine the roles of the country’s three financial system regulators as part of a review, a source close to your campaign said on Thursday.

Should he win the race, Truss is expected to examine the role of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) and Payment Systems Regulator (PSR).

“No decision has been taken about the future of the regulators,” said the source, who asked not to be named. “It is clear that not enough attention has been given to economic growth.”

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Bank of England and the Bank of England (PSR) declined to comment. The Financial Times first reported the news.

Truss and former Foreign Minister and Finance Minister Rishi Sunak are participating in the Conservative Party run-off to replace Boris Johnson as Prime Minister, the outcome of which will be announced on 5 September.
