Lightning comes, lightning goes: Tensions between Texas and the Biden administration continue to escalate

According to the elected representatives, Texas is being invaded. It all happens in Eagle Pass, especially around Shelby Park, overlooking the Rio Grande.

Authorities have seized the park and are preventing federal agents from accessing it. For elected Republicans, the term “invasion” would give them every constitutional right to defend their state, while also allowing them to opt out of the Supreme Court's ruling.

Dan Patrick, Texas' second-in-command, explained this on Fox News. He believes that the system followed by the Biden administration in allowing immigrants to enter the country while awaiting their summons is a refusal to confront this β€œinvasion.” β€œWe are putting barbed wire where we can. We are not going to stop. If they cut it, we will replace it.”

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, now has the option to take charge of the Texas National Guard, so that it no longer serves local authorities. But Gov. Greg Abbott, on the same TV channel, is preparing to continue defending the border. β€œIf Joe Biden requests our National Guard β€” which would be a dangerous political mistake β€” I am prepared to do everything I can to ensure Texas continues to secure its borders.”

All Republican governors in the United States, with the exception of Vermont, as well as Republican elected representatives such as Ted Cruz and House Speaker Mike Johnson, have publicly supported Texas' decision. Donald Trump also accused Joe Biden on his social network of allowing this invasion and supporting the Texas authorities.

It must be said that the immigration issue is very popular among the MAGA base in the Republican Party, and the candidate and his supporters for the presidential elections next November have every intention of exploiting it. Currently, Donald Trump has managed to block any vote on immigration legislation in Congress.
