Lebanon demands recognition of the State of Palestine in the United Nations (+ photo)

At this point, he stressed the need to live in dignity and tranquility in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative that was agreed upon by the countries of the region at the Beirut Summit in 2002.

Once again, in full collusion with Israel, the United States vetoed a draft resolution allowing Palestine to become a permanent member of the United Nations.

Algeria's proposal on behalf of the Arab Group received the support of 12 countries, while the United Kingdom and Switzerland abstained from voting, and Washington took advantage of its position as one of the five permanent members of the Council to prevent the complete establishment of the State of Palestine.
