Lasso announces actions to restore landslide area in Ecuador

But the people of that district disapproved of the chief’s presence there and attempted to enter the mayor’s office by force to complain of the lack of interest in the canton.

On Monday morning, the people of Alosi blamed the government of Guillermo Lasso for the damage caused by the landslide, claiming that they had warned for months about the dangers of a geological fault that caused the earth to move.

Likewise, on Saturday, many residents of that region organized a sit-in to demand intervention in the region, fearing the danger of collapse.

During the protest, they also claimed that a technical study recently conducted in that town revealed that when it rains there is no proper sewage system, and thus waste water seeps into the ground, causing high humidity.
