It was reported last night that the IPN has appointed José Roberto de Jesus Bastaraccia as the new director of the Graduate School of Medicine and that the National School of Biological Sciences and the Zakatenko unit have already lifted the work stoppage and will hand over the facilities today, back to classes on September 28, after announcing the rescheduling of activities.
The management of the Higher School of Commerce and Administration (ESCA), the Tiban unit, announced that the school’s facilities were reviewed by specialists, due to the earthquakes that occurred on September 19 and 22, without evidence of structural damage.
Through a statement, Campus President Judith Fompiroza Mezza informed the student community that on September 21 at 11 a.m., members of the IPN Council on Business and Establishments (POI) went to ESCA to check whether buildings had been damaged by Monday’s 19th earthquake.
POI Executive Secretary José Alejandro Camacho Sanchez explained that the “maximum acceleration” recorded in the earthquake that day “did not exceed 30 gallons, so based on the regulations in force in Mexico City, it is not appropriate to carry out a safety and occupancy assessment.”
As a result of the above, Camacho Sanchez concluded that “the property is habitable and can continue to function.”
Meanwhile, the Cecyt 13 community reported on social media that it had also requested an expert report from its facilities, after the recent earthquakes, and denounced that the authorities had only conducted a “swipe inspection” that had been allegedly improperly done.
