Tijuana, British Columbia. Dr. Victor Alejandro Espinosa Valle has assumed the presidency of El Colegio de la Frontera Norte (El Colef), which will manage the institution during the period 2022-2027.
The appointment was made by Dr. Maria Elena Alvarez Puella Ross, Director General of the National Council for Science and Technology, after an internal and external examination process. The process of appointing the new president of the Colliffe began at the end of January of this year, when the invitation was announced by Consett.
During the reception, the President of Conacyt highlighted El Colef’s prestige as a historic institution committed to social welfare. Likewise, he highlighted the Espinosa Valley’s work proposal and file, which will allow to consolidate the work done by the Foundation, for the benefit of Mexico and the northern border, since its founding.
A glimpse into the Espinosa Valley
Victor Alejandro Espinosa Valle holds a PhD in political science, political science and sociology from the Complutense University of Madrid and the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Member of the National System for Level 2 Researchers. Prior to his appointment, he worked as a research professor in the Department of Public Administration Studies.
He has also taught courses and classes at Autonomous University of Baja California, Technological University of Mexico, Ibero-American University of Tijuana, Metropolitan Autonomous University, Iztapalaba (Full Professor).
In addition, it was part of the evaluation of the Master’s Program in Social Sciences of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the Autonomous University of Queretaro, National Program for the Quality of Postgraduate Studies (PNPC), Kunasset, February 2021. Member of the Graduate Programs Evaluation Committee under the Call for New Income 2015- 2018 from the National Program for Quality for Postgraduate Studies (PNPC), Connakit, June 2019. Among his most recent assignments: Elected by the Association of Presidents as Academic Secretary of SOMEE for the period 2022-2024. Elected by the Owners Association as Academic Secretary of SOMEE for the period 2007-2010. Distinction as a Non-Resident Visiting Fellow, Center for Mexican American Studies, University of California, San Diego, August 2020 to June 2021. El Colef President’s message
In his first message as President of El Colef, Espinosa Valley thanked the appointment received, as well as the applicants’ engagement and support of the educational institution’s community.
Likewise, he noted that the institution would enter an avant-garde moment and modernize its research and teaching programmes, with the aim of striving for the well-being of the population on the northern frontier and the rest of Mexico; In addition to active participation in the design of public policies and communication with various sectors and actors in society.
