Maritime historian and researcher Juan Carlos Diaz Lorenzo (Fuencaliente de La Palma, 1959) Unanimously elected as the new president of the Canarian Academy of Navigation Sciences, based in Laguna (Tenerife). The teacher relaxes Gonzalo Lozano Soldevillawho held this position for the past two years, after the resignation of its founding president, Prof Enrique Garcia Melon.
The new president thanked the members of the academy for their trust and announced a program of work, academic and social projection, as well as exchanges with other academies, relevant bodies, universities, research programs, conference sessions, and the publication of the magazine.Captainand the inclusion of new academic physicians.

PhD in Engineering and Marine Propulsion from the University of La Coruña, Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences from the University of La Laguna, and a Degree in Art History from the University of Santiago de Compostela New President of the Canary Islands Academy of Communication and Navigation Sciences. He is the author of 58 books, most of which relate to the sea world and ships, as well as commercial aviation, architecture, and the volcanoes of his native island of La Palma.
