The General Council of the National Elections Institute unanimously approved the appointment Edgar Martin Duñas Cardenas As a new adviser to the State Institute for Elections (IEE), given the vacancy that resulted from his resignation Javier Avila Last December 31.
According to the opinion on the evaluation of his profile provided by the Liaison Committee with the Local Public Electoral Bodies of the National Institute of Statistics, Deoinas Cardenas is 33 years old and holds a degree in Public Administration and Political Science, with a major in Environmental Sciences, Management and Sustainability from Colima University.
The new IEE General Council member has experience as an electoral assistant trainer in the 2017-2018 and 2020-2021 processes and has held various positions at the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) and as a campus manager of intermediate distance education (EMSAD) in the state.
After mitigating the stages of the selection process undertaken by the National Elections Institute, the governing committee considered his profile suitable to work as a local electoral advisor, because he “has the knowledge to perform the functions inherent in the position, and adhere to the principles of certainty, legality, independence, integrity, maximum publicity, and objectivity, And parity, and that the aforementioned activities will be implemented from a gender perspective.
The appointment of Duñas Cardenas is approved on Friday (April 16) and it will be Saturday (April 17) when he takes office until September 30, 2024.
On January 17, the National Elections Institute issued a call to fill the vacancy of Javier Avila as an electoral advisor in Colima, who resigned under the pretext of personal reasons for the position. For the selection process, the applicants took a knowledge test, wrote an essay, and interviewed the National Institute of Statistics advisors to assess their capabilities.
