The The State Electoral Institute of Hidalgo (IEEH), participated in the academic week of political science and public administration. “Political, governmental and technological revolution”, organized by Postgraduate School of Acatlan of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (FCPyS-UNAM).
The virtual activity was welcomed by María Guadalupe Martinez Franco, Coordinator of the Graduate School of Education (FES-Acatlán) Political Program, and as moderator, Gustavo Zúñiga Colin, advisor and political strategist at Ingenio Estratégico.
Electoral advisor Christian Ozil García Reyes, as chair of the Standing Committee on Electoral Training and Civic Education, participated in the analysis table called “Virtual Environment as a Technological Response to Emergencies and Its Implications for Labor and Education”.
Present the actions and activities carried out by the IEEH when using new information technologies (ICT), mainly in virtual debates, as a proposed action in the face of the social and health scenario caused by the Covid-19 epidemic, compliance with purpose. Provide a space for citizens to know the proposals of each candidate and the competing candidate, while granting at all times the right to health of all persons involved in its realization.
Highlighting the success of Hidalgo and Coahuila’s electoral operations last year with respect to Hidalgo, Ninfa Elizabeth Hernandez Trejo, a professor at FCPyS-UNAM, said integrating electronic voting required years of testing for identification. Opportunities and improvement, implementing as many auditable trial drills and exercises as possible at all times.
Carlos Paez Silva, Head of the Investigation Unit of the Electoral Judicial School of the Electoral Tribunal for the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF) recognized that Hidalgo and Coahuila were pioneers in the organization of elections, as they had to adapt their electoral procedures to the special circumstances of the pandemic, particularly in their educational work, training and updating of electoral processes .
In her speech, Laura Patricia Becerra Chiu, Minister of State for the Political Promotion of Women in Zacatecas, addressed the importance and challenges of using ICTs in basic education.
Finally, Antonio Faustino Torres, Emeritus Professor at FES – Acatlan spoke about the characteristics of education in the virtual environment and the challenges of education.
