For many years, the community speculated that the protagonist belonged to the LGBTQIA+ community, basing them on the fact that she is a clone of Elisabet Sobeck, who was a lesbian. Thus, this scene of the sequel’s DLC seems to confirm fan theories.

Although some users claim that it was forced to include and that Horizon Forbidden West is a “progressive” game, reception has been mostly positive. Many fans are happy that Aloy is openly lesbian.
