Honduran Foreign Minister confirms improved relations with Vatican (+photos)

Channel 8 television reported that the Honduran head of diplomacy received a delegation from the Vatican headed by the Deputy for Public Affairs at the Secretariat of State, Edgardo Peña, and spoke with him about issues of immigration, cooperation and bilateral relations.

According to this source, quoting a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting came before the reopening of the Papal Embassy in this capital, on Saturday, which included the restoration, modernization and expansion of its building, which was built in 1948.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Administrative Office of the Secretariat of State of the Holy See, David Romano; the Apostolic Nuncio to Honduras, Monsignor Gabor Pintar; and Secretary Giacomo Antoncelli. According to information, Peña conveyed during the dialogue greetings and blessings from His Holiness to President Xiomara Castro and the Honduran people.
