Helen Rhodes was traveling last August 5 with her family from Hong Kong, where he lived for 15 years, to the United Kingdom. The woman died on the flight, accompanied by her husband and two children.
The family embarked on the journey normally for about 14 hours. However, a few hours after takeoff, her family noticed that the woman, apparently asleep, was unresponsive.

Although Rhodes attempted CPR on the plane, these maneuvers were unsuccessful and her body remained lifeless on the seat until the plane landed in Frankfurt, Germany.. Her husband and children, according to other passengers told “The Sun,” were left devastated for hours next to the woman’s body.
The mother’s body was left in Germany for inspection by local authorities, but this required her family to pay exorbitant repatriation costs, so they launched a campaign on GoFundMe, a US for-profit crowdfunding platform, to fund the operation.
The fundraiser’s friend Helen Jane Gage wrote on the page: “This donation is to honor this beautiful woman so loved by so many, a dear friend who has touched so many.”
Helen is originally from the UK but lived with her family in Tung Chung, Hong Kong for over 10 years and was returning home the day he passed away. In addition, “The Sun” confirms that the woman has not met her parents, whom she has not seen since before the pandemic.
Raising money for his return to his homeland and funeral has already accumulated more than 17 thousand pounds (about 88 million pesos), of which 20 thousand was his goal.
