During his speech at the highest meeting of heads of state and government of CELAC in Argentina, Bocaro called for the transformation of “multi-polarity into true multilateralism to create spaces that transcend”.
Likewise, he thanked the South American country for the work of the interim chair of the regional mechanism and urged its members to work together for political, economic, social and cultural integration.
The Head of External Relations used the occasion to highlight that Guatemala seeks to address the root causes of migration and welcomed the fact that Celac is committed to promoting safe, orderly, regular and selective migration.
Likewise, the head of Guatemalan diplomacy expressed his commitment to finding solutions to the crisis in Haiti.
Finally, he invited attendees to participate in the Guatemala-based Association of Caribbean States’ Ninth Summit of Heads of State and Government, on May 12.
Since arriving in Argentina, Picaro has developed a broad bilateral agenda with counterparts from Bolivia, Barbados, Haiti, and St. Kitts and Nevis, among others.
In addition, he held meetings with the secretaries of the Secretariat of the Central American Integration System, the Caribbean Community and the Association of Caribbean States, according to reports released in the capital on the social networks of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
