From Monday, voting begins at UACh colleges – El Heraldo de Chihuahua

Voting will begin tomorrow, Monday, to elect the three candidates for directors of Chihuahua Autonomous University Colleges; Operations will be carried out with the support of the State Electoral Institute through physical ballot boxes in which students and faculty members can vote.

On the other hand, in the Faculties of Medicine, Accounting, Management, Political and Social Sciences, Chemical Sciences as well as Philosophy and Arts, the shortlists of teachers to be voted on by the University Council have been established, so only in those Faculties will the auscultation be carried out before the rules; In the other ten academic units, there will be an internal vote to select the winning list, which will also be voted on by the University Council.

Faculty of Political Science: Victor Guzman, Luis Martinez and Mario Duarte.

Only students and faculty members registered or attached to that academic unit may participate in the examination procedures. Opinions will be considered by three, according to all possible combinations that result from the total number of registered applicants; Once the opinions of both teachers and students have been calculated, for each potential tripartite, the following will be implemented, as described in the UACh Academic Unit Managers’ Appointment Regulations:

The stated opinions will be weighted by the resulting factor by dividing the total number of student opinions by the total number of opinions issued by teachers, multiplying the said factor by the number of teachers opinions in favor of terna and adding the product to the number of student reviews in favor of terna, giving the result of the total number of critical opinions for each terna, with the need to express the factor up to ten thousand.

The final list sent to the University Council will be the list that has reached the largest number of critical opinions. The Technical Council will send the final shortlisted to the University Council within twenty-four working hours after its integration, listing its members in alphabetical order on the basis of first title.

In short, 45 candidates go to the second round, in order to select a faculty director from each list. The process repeats, but is now voted on by 63 university advisors distributed as follows: 30 votes representing all UACh students; 30 votes for all teachers; One vote per union (there are two: the teachers’ union and the administrative union); And another voice, is the voice of the university president.
