Forest sciences get a certificate

Excellence. One area that should be highlighted is the academic processes with students.

The Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Sciences at the University of Juarez has national and international recognition with various degrees. For the second time, it has received accreditation from the German organization ASIIN and also received recognition from the Mexican Commission for Accreditation of Agricultural Education (COMEAA).

Raul Solis Moreno, Principal of Juarist College commented, “This is the second time that the Forest Science Engineering educational program has been internationally accredited, and for seven years, this recognition is given for the work done by the staff of the College of Forestry and Environmental Sciences.”

In addition, he stressed that this is a commitment to continued institutional strengthening. He commented that one of the areas that should be highlighted is the academic processes with students, and this work had been carried out for several years.

He explained that with national and international accreditation, the college’s infrastructure, in addition to the academic staff and the productivity of academic bodies, were strengthened in order to enhance study plans.

Director Solís Moreno commented: “We must acknowledge all colleagues who were involved in the work related to the compilation of indicators required by the assessors of the German organization.”

Similarly, the Mexican Commission for the Accreditation of Agricultural Education conducted a follow-up evaluation of the two programmes, for both the Forest Engineer and the Environmental Management Engineer.

In conclusion, Director Solis Moreno emphasized that “the process is not over, we will continue to pay attention to recommendations, it is necessary to maintain the quality of student training.”
