The Foreign Secretary, Anna Cecilia Gervasi, held a working meeting with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, James Cleverley, within the framework of the OECD Ministerial-level Council meeting, which the British chaired this year. Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, which took place yesterday, the Foreign Secretary astutely thanked the Secretary of State for the support Peru has given the United Kingdom to join the Comprehensive and Advanced Agreement of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP-11).

In addition, The minister expressed his country’s desire and full readiness to cooperate with the process of Peru’s accession to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The occasion was delicate to highlight 200 years of diplomatic relations and friendship between the two countries, a time when a major bilateral agenda was reached in the political, economic, cultural and environmental fields, among others.

Specifically, Minister Gervasi highlighted Peru’s interest in addressing the issue of environmental protection and the Andean Amazon region, which is linked to efforts to develop green finance that would allow the generation of resources without harming the Amazonian ecosystem.

The document was presented by the President of the Council of Ministers, Alberto Otarola, to the Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, Matthias Cormann.
