Five inland counties on orange alert due to heat

Madrid, July 27 (EFE).- High temperatures continue in the interior of the peninsula, with greater incidences in the provinces of Toledo, Madrid, Cáceres, Teruel and Zaragoza, where the orange warning (high risk) has been activated due to high temperatures that will rise to 39-40 degrees, Aemet reported on its website.

In the Community of Madrid there is only an orange level in points in the south, Las Vegas and the west with a maximum of 39 degrees. In the mountains of Madrid the yellow warning continues for temperatures of up to 34 degrees and in the metropolitan area and Henares with a maximum of 38 degrees.

In the province of Cáceres (Extremadura) there is an orange warning in the regions of Tajo and Alagon, where temperatures will reach 40 degrees, while in Badajoz there is a yellow warning (danger) with a maximum of 38 degrees.

The community of Castilla-La Mancha has activated the orange level in the province of Toledo, where a suffocating heat of up to 40 degrees will be recorded in the Tagus Valley, among other areas. In the rest of the community there is a yellow warning for values ​​between 34-38 degrees.

In the provinces of Teruel and Zaragoza (Aragon), the thermometer will reach 39 degrees in the areas of Bajo Aragon and on the banks of the Ebro River in Zaragoza, while between 35 and 38 degrees will be recorded in the rest of the community.

Six communities on yellow alert

In the communities of Andalusia, Catalonia, Castilla y León, the Balearic Islands, Navarra and La Rioja, a yellow alert has been activated for maximum temperatures that will range between 34-39 degrees.

Aemet warns that with the orange alert there is a high meteorological risk, with a certain degree of danger to usual activities and with the yellow alert there is no meteorological risk to the general population, although there are some specific activities.
