The royal establishment is forming a “ring of steel” around the Queen in case Prince Harry and Meghan Markle bring in a camera crew when they attend the platinum jubilee celebrations.
After months of speculation, Harry and Meghan have confirmed that they will be traveling from California with their two children Archie and Lillibet to celebrate the Queen’s 70th anniversary accession to the throne in June.
The couple did not say if they would work on the trip, but after the Netflix crew followed Harry on a trip to The Hague, some commentators have suggested the royals are concerned the couple might be cheating on a “hoax”.
Now speaking to Today Australia, Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers has indicated that the Queen is unlikely to be filmed very closely for Harry and Meghan’s deals on Netflix.

Despite recent health problems and the increasingly abolition of public appearances, Russell stressed that the Queen remains the “leader” of the monarchy.
“It is still a sad situation, I feel very sorry that the Queen must make these kinds of decisions at the age of 96, having given her life to the country, the Commonwealth and even the world, and her entire family is crumbling around him.”
The royal commentator claimed that this would make it less likely that the Queen would make a significant appearance in any documentary projects Harry and Meghan might be filming during their visit to the UK to celebrate the jubilee.

“There is an absolute ring of steel around the Queen in regards to her advisors. They would surely advise Harry and Meghan not to think about it even for a moment.”
But who knows what they will do. They were definitely advised not to speak to Oprah Winfrey, not to speak to Gayle King, and not to speak to the American journalist last week, and yet they continued to do so.”
Reflecting on excluding the Sussexes from the famous balcony moment, Russell said: “I can’t see we can see it being anything other than great disdain. It’s very embarrassing for the Sussexes.”

“They will never miss an opportunity to be in the spotlight and rub shoulders with the royal family, no matter how much you say, because they still need to be seen as royalty.
“Netflix paid them a lot of money and they didn’t see anything in terms of content. Spotify didn’t watch any content and we are still waiting for these podcasts from Meghan and Netflix has dropped Meghan for the premiere.
“But they will definitely have a Netflix crew following them in the UK and I’m sure the royals are terrified.”
The Daily Star has contacted Harry and Meghan’s representatives for comment.
