The documentary Fidel de Circa, an intimate portrait of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution through the testimony of relatives and people around him, was shown on November 6 in London.

The film, directed by Mexicans Eduardo Flores and Gabriel Berstin and Cuban Roberto Chile, was screened Saturday at Rich Mix cultural complex in east London by Alborada Films, which produces and distributes documentaries about Latin America.

The intent of this film is to present a portrait of Fidel Castro, one of the world’s most famous political leaders, from the perspective of his friends, family, and close collaborators, Flores explained in a letter sent before the show.

Speaking to Prensa Latina, the director of Alborada Films, British-Chilean journalist Pablo Navarrete, considered it a great honor to be able to show the documentary for the first time on British screens about a character, he said, so great and important in Latin American history.

According to Navarrete, there are many people interested in getting the documentary, which won the Audience Award at the 35th Trieste Latin American Film Festival last year, in other cities in the UK.
