In a ceremony on March 10 in the auditorium of the school located in the south of the state, university president Santos Guzmán López placed the Venera Medal, a symbol of power in the most remote house of studies.

“Dr. Gerardo Cuellar, the university and its directors thank you and your collaborators for the work of your first three years at the helm of the Faculty of Forest Sciences,” said Benjamín Limón Rodríguez.
The Chairman of the Board expressed to the Principal that the College would continue to develop under his leadership and that this commitment would require redoubling work over the next three years.
“We hope you will comply with what is set out in this action plan and continue to have the support of your entire team, as you know how to do in this unit,” he said.

After accepting the position of principal, Cuellar-Rodriguez highlighted in his letter that he had the support of the College of Forest Sciences community to continue to lead the school.
“Three years ago I started with this challenge of guiding the college I graduated from and today is the time to look at the challenges of the future and redirect the efforts of the new plan of action,” he said as a pointer.

The principal, an alumnus of FCF, explained that the college is not just buildings, computers, or gardens, but rather that the school is made up of staff committed to the educational quality of its programmes.
He explained, “I am confident that I have great support and that this security is only granted to me through the certainty of the union of faculty members and colleagues in the administrative field.”
One of the best schools in the country
University President Santos Guzmán López said FCF has 160 students in its five bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs. It is already ranked as one of the best schools in the country in its area.
This is possible thanks to the excellent faculty of its 35 professors who provide quality education. Forest Sciences is one of the few colleges in which almost all of the faculty have Ph.D.’s.
The executive director of the university urged those gathered at the ceremony to work hard to preserve the academic offering of the region’s colleges.
“Luis Gerardo, we are very confident that you will continue to comply with this period, just as you have done before; I congratulate this great community, not a step back,” said Guzmán López.
