The parliamentary body, meeting at the capital’s Conference Palace ahead of the third session of the Afghan People’s Party’s 10th legislative assembly, “strongly condemned” the occupying power, Israel, for killing tens of thousands of innocent civilians.
Likewise, the Committee joins the international rejection of the destruction of Palestinian hospitals, schools, mosques and other infrastructure, in clear violation of international humanitarian law, the statement said.
The parliamentary body also rejected the historical complicity of the United States of America through its repeated use of the veto power to prevent the implementation of a ceasefire that would stop the killing of innocent civilians.
The appeal supports the decision of the Government of Cuba to participate, as a third state, in the case brought by South Africa against Israel before the International Court of Justice, and also calls for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Cuban lawmakers believe that a cessation of hostilities will put an end to the genocide being committed against the Palestinian people and will allow urgent aid to enter to address the serious humanitarian crisis facing the people of Gaza.
The ANPP CRI reaffirmed Cuba’s historical position calling for a broad, just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, supporting the just cause of the Palestinian people and their right to establish their independent and sovereign state, within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital and allowing refugees to return to their lands.
Likewise, the call calls for ensuring the admission of the State of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations without further delay. Omani Riyal/LLD
