San Juan del Rio, November 14, 2022. – In order to promote ancestral medicine, the Mexican Traditional Medicine and Herbal Conference was held for the first time in San Juan del Rio.
The event was promoted by the municipal government, headed by Mayor Roberto Cabrera Valencia, to benefit from the knowledge of indigenous teachers who continue to practice herbal medicine to improve health conditions not only in communities, but also in large cities.
And from the General Secretariat for Agricultural Development, conferences like these are promoted so that citizens can learn more about the topic and experts in traditional medicine can share knowledge.
Also in attendance was the Minister of Economic Development, Jose Francisco Landeras Laesca, who said that through herbal medicine, people can generate income.
Speaking, the official reported that years ago he was suffering from pancreatic discomfort that he was able to overcome thanks to alternative medicine.
“It was a fight with myself, there was a lot of pain and I took what they told me to feel better,” he said, adding that it was the herbal injections that helped calm the discomfort.
As soon as the conference opened, the herbal pharmacists of the municipality were honored, as well as the ancestral masters of medicine living in the area.
