Santo Domingo, April 4 (Prensa Latina) Deputy Prosecutor and Director of Prosecutions of the Public Prosecutor of the Dominican Republic, Yeni Bernice, has positively assessed the coercive measures imposed on the 20 defendants in the alleged corruption case of Callamard.
According to a press release issued by the Presidency of the Republic, the judge in charge of the case also announced the complexity of the process, “which indicates the solidity of the file submitted by the Public Prosecution Office.”

The Deputy Public Prosecutor indicated that the investigation is still ongoing, and as indicated by the Public Prosecutor of the Republic, Myriam Germain, everyone who committed an illegal act will be brought to justice.
Finally, Bernice said that in the next few hours the prosecution will request a special judge of the Supreme Court of Justice, who must know the facts related to deputy Sergio Moya, mentioned in the Callamard case.
The file provided by the Public Prosecutor’s Office contains more than 3,000 pages and 1,200 pieces of evidence. The initial accusation of the detainees is association with criminals, embezzlement, alliance of officials, forgery of public and private documents, bribery and illegal campaign financing. money laundering, among others.
