China’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Zheng Zigang, said on Wednesday he hoped the country would not follow the United States’ lead, and refrain from sending deputies to visit Taiwan.
Cheng pointed out at a press conference that any attempt by British representatives to imitate Pelosi or to help Taiwan defend itself, would be a serious violation of the one-China principle and the joint statement signed by London and Beijing in March 1972, Prensa Latina.
