According to Zhao Lijian, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, more than 30 biological laboratories linked to Washington, and in particular to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, have been identified.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian on Monday urged Washington to give a full explanation of its biological research abroad.
According to Zhao, more than 30 biological laboratories associated with Washington and, in particular, the US Department of Defense have been identified in Ukraine. Although some of the laboratories in question are out of service, the presence of plague pathogens has also been found in some of them.
According to the Chinese spokesman, Washington has allocated more than 200 million dollars for the investigations taking place in these facilities. “The United States has invested more than 200 million dollars, in what did they spend that money? What kind of pathogens are they investigating?” Zhao said at a press conference.
In this context, Zhao described the false information disseminated by Washington as “unacceptable.” “The United States has been lying, it is hiding the true agenda of these activities from the American community,” the spokesperson said, adding that the country’s government has deleted all documents related to this matter from its official website.
“If the United States wants to prove the sincerity of its activities, why not open biological laboratories for independent evaluation by international experts?” the Chinese spokesman said. “Why don’t you publish the correct information to prove your innocence?” he asked.
In Zhao’s view, Washington refuses to join international efforts to end biological testing while accusing other countries of creating so-called biological threats.
“It’s a typical American game of double standards,” he said. “We hope that the United States can take a responsible position, clarify its activities in Ukraine and not oppose the creation of a framework for biological weapons research, which will help the United States gain global trust and improve security,” the spokesperson concluded. Chinese Foreign Ministry.
