The Higher Institute of Religious Sciences (ISCCRR) of the University of San Damaso (UESD) offers a semi-semester method of its studies, which gives the student great flexibility so that he can organize his own schedule and be able to combine his professional career. The family and the academy.

These studies – recognized by the Vatican and the Spanish state – are divided into two cycles of three years and two years respectively, with the ecclesiastical title of the Baccalaureate (for the first cycle) and the Licensed (for the second) in Religious Sciences, equivalent to the civil titles of the degree and master’s.

Both the degree and master’s degrees are open to anyone baptized interested in deepening their faith.”
Study DECA Online in Canary Islands
In addition, the ISCCRR in the Distance Learning Department provides access to the Canonical Declaration of Academic Proficiency (DECA), exclusively for the secondary level. This title is the accreditation necessary to be able to teach as a religious teacher in schools and institutes throughout Spain.
The DECA course includes five topics dealing with pedagogy, religion education, or teaching methods. “Many people in recent years have enrolled in DECA, issued by the Spanish Bishops’ Conference, as it is essential to be able to teach religion in public and co-ordinated centres,” says the deputy director.
All subjects (Bachelor’s, Master’s or DECA) are taught remotely with a tutor. Final assessment of each subject has work done from home and face-to-face exam if permitted by health authorities, otherwise it will be done online. Special titles and classical and oriental language courses in a face-to-face setting
This training can be supplemented with private, face-to-face UESD certificates that deal with topics such as the relationship between Christianity and Islam, church history, mission or Jewish languages and culture.
