BTS’s Jungkook is making history on the UK’s Official Singles Chart with “Seven” debuting at number three

On July 21 local time, Official Charts (generally considered the British equivalent of the US Billboard Charts) announced that Jungkook’s official single “Seven” (featuring Latto) had debuted at No. 3 on the official singles chart, setting a new record for the highest debut of any song by a Korean solo artist.

Jungkook is now the first Korean solo artist to debut in the top five of the official singles chart, and only the second artist overall, to join his own group BTS (whose songs “Dynamite”, “Butter” and “My Universe” also debuted at number three).

“Seven” also debuted at number one on both the Official Single Sales Chart and the Official Download Singles Chart that week, as well as number five on the Official Airplay Chart.

Prior to “Seven”, Jungkook had previously entered the official singles chart with “Stay Alive”, his single he produced. suga for the soundtrack to the BTS webtoon and web novel “7 Fates: CHAKHO”, which peaked at No. 89, and their collaboration with Charlie Puth, “Left and Right”, which peaked at No. 41.
