Great Britain emerges from the Olympics stronger. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will increase the country’s budget for Olympic and Paralympic sports by 232 million pounds (272 million euros) in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics After returning from Tokyo with 65 medals, the British Prime Minister said at a press conference.
The new funds will be used to train Olympic and Paralympic athletes Great Britain. The additional injection for British Olympic sports represents a 43% increase in funding received for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
“Athletes are confident they have inspired many to start playing sport for the first time while promoting Britain’s image abroad,” said British Sports Minister Nigel Huddleston.

The United Kingdom will host the Commonwealth Games next year, which will be held in Birmingham. £778 million (€914 million) was invested in the West Midlands region to carry out the event, making it the largest sporting event in the country since the 2012 London Olympics.
