It is no coincidence that the parish served by the Che Guevara Comprehensive Diagnostic Center is called Bella Vista. And from the very gate of the Cuban medical institution the healing really began, with a skyline decorated with the mountains that gave its name to San Juan de los Moros, the capital of the Venezuelan state of Guarico.
On this exceptional site, a group of Cuban specialists monitors the health of the people.
Young physician Roberto Portelles Olivero, “Che Guevara” CDI coordinator, notes that the institution provides care for approximately 70,000 potential patients, most of whom are affected by chronic non-communicable diseases and respiratory diseases.
According to Dr. Portelles, the youth and enthusiasm emanating from him characterize the CDI Ché Guevara Brigade. With the example of a guerrilla doctor, they maintain services that directly benefit the most humble sections of the Guariqueño population.
“This young man is critical to keeping the Guards Corps services, intensive care unit, clinical laboratories, highly accurate analysis system, and rehabilitation room active, among other things.”
After the severe Covid-19 disaster, CDI Ché Guevara has reasserted itself as a health stronghold in San Juan de los Moros. In his facilities and on the street, with the advent of the days of society, Cuban specialists earn the love of the people.
“On Community Health Days, collaborators bring CDI services into their patients’ homes. Research is done, and the community is supported with medication and health extension talks, among many other actions that have an impact on their quality of life.”
Once you enter CDI Ché Guevara, the path begins to restore body and soul. A brigade committed to the well-being of Venezuelans awaits there, in an institution that, in addition to health, also offers a beautiful view of the San Juan Hills.
