The preliminary tournament, which will be held in Venezuela, will give two places to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Uruguay, led by Argentine Bielsa, will form the second group, along with Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Peru.
The last time La Celeste played in the Olympic Games was in London 2012, where the team led by Oscar Washington Tabárez and reinforced by Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani did not go beyond the first round after losing to Senegal and the United Kingdom.
