It has been official since November that the Faculty of Information Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid will recognize some brilliant alumni, as in previous years. And that he will do it on January 24th, which some may not know is the patron saint of journalists.
At the suggestion of the Faculty of Information Sciences, Rafa Anton, Almudena Arriza, Ángel Expósito, Arturo Pérez Riverte, Antonio de la Torre, Exworkso Torres and Miguel Trillo. At the suggestion of the Rector of the University of Complutense, Joaquín Goiás, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the first former student of the college to hold the governmental presidency of an autonomous community and the first in the history of the Spanish Autonomous Community to graduate in the region, was also recognized.
The list of UCM’s bright 2023 alumni proposed by the college is the result of consultations with all departments, departments, departmental units, and the Dean’s team. The final proposal was approved at the November 7 faculty meeting.
UCM’s illustrious new alumni join the recognition awarded in 2021 to Pepa Bueno, Alex Grijelmo, Fernando Leon de Aranoa, José Antonio Llorente, Mónica Moro, Fernando Rodríguez and Vicente Vallés, who have received their Medal of Honor from HM The Queen to which, on this occasion of the college’s fiftieth anniversary, UCM alumni are named for the honor.
I summarize the consultation and decision-making process, as well as the background, to highlight that it is a broad, open, and legitimate process. The distinction of a former student from Isabel Diaz Ayuso may not like some, but at least a little respect is required for the channels established for this type of discrimination.
Some seem to prefer not to accept this distinction if the chosen one is from PP: it would be necessary to know if Pedro Sánchez studied Information Sciences at Complutense, because that would not sound so bad.
Ayusu’s boo was expected, but it wasn’t the unfortunate tirade of the most intelligent student in the promotion, the exceptional prize, the violent, not-quite-clever Elisa, and the hundreds of people who came to call Ayusu a “murderer.”
And it is unpresentable that the Minister of Universities justifies the betrayal of Ayusu: freedom and pluralism in university environments, but only for some, which is the usual thing for sectarians and dictators, who dress up as democracy to come to power, and then discover without clothes. intellectual and social dictatorship.
The Faculty of Information Sciences of Complutense is the dean of the faculties of journalism in Spain. The bad news is that it is precisely there that we have witnessed a painful release of disrespectful and primordial sectarianism, which – as can be seen on social networks – has received many reproaches. Journalism, which needs quality, preparation, and respect, now has more cause for concern than we do. Yes, another career has been wounded since that day.
As a piece of rhetoric by the caller, the student’s speech was very bad, very flawed, in its phrasing, structure, and expressions. A frequent “coupon” at a public fair is synonymous with shoddy language, and is a common phrase for the incompetent.
The bile and so-called “body expression” of Eli expresses a deep-rooted hatred, or/and cheered by segments of podcasts in the days and weeks before. His face, gestures, and movements exude an abundance of intolerance. Let’s not be naive. I wasn’t alone, I knew what was staged, let’s leave the naivety off.
Although this student says it was an impromptu speech, I don’t believe it. And if it is improvised, the lack of professionalism that leads to that aggressive, violent superficiality of the best applicant for promotion is incomprehensible.
Among those who started Information Sciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, in Bellaterra, in 1975, there was respect, or so I remember. It has nothing to do with what happened in Complutense with Ayusu.
I avoid reproducing the qualities of different colleagues, media managers, towards Elisa. between surprise and anger. He is young but of legal age, responsible for his actions, and I encourage him to reflect, without allowing himself to be manipulated by those who have manipulated him, for of course he lacks ‘judgment’ of what he supposes in his utterances, to disqualify them to speak.
