There was a complaint a few months ago that the prince was asking for money for honors and that a businessman from Saudi Arabia was involved.
The decision followed an evaluation of a letter from September 2021. This relates to media reports alleging offers of money to secure honors and citizenship for a Saudi citizen. Scotland Yard said in a statement on Wednesday it had dealt another major blow to the royal family.
The man in question is a billionaire Mahfouz Mary Mubarak bin Mahfouzwho allegedly donated large sums of money to restoration projects of particular importance to the future king.
The police added that so far there have been no arrests and no clear evidence. The director of the Prince’s Foundation resigned last year after an internal investigation into the allegations. He is believed to have coordinated efforts to grant Mahfouz a royal honour, and even British citizenship.
