Are you exhausted at work? This Spanish startup has the solution to help you

According to data from the World Health Organization, one in four people will develop a mental disorder throughout their life and between 35% and 50% do not receive any or it is insufficient treatment. Until recently, the topic of mental health was a big taboo and no one spoke openly about this important issue. The scourge of our society, which remained invisible for a long time, but the epidemic began to expose it.

However, there is a significant barrier to accessing psychological treatments. Finding the right therapist is really complicated, and you have to spend a lot of time finding the right therapist. In addition, since it is still difficult to find people with whom you can talk frankly about it, it is almost impossible to seek advice or recommendations from specialists. But above all, psychological treatments are expensive and not everyone can afford them. For this reason, a Spaniard created a “startup” designed to help people with mental health issues in the workplace.

Now, the pandemic has revealed more cases than ever of people seeking psychological help. For this reason, one of the UK’s most powerful venture capital firms, Stride VC, has committed $8 million to fund Oliva Health, a startup created by Travelperk founder Javier Suárez, which aims to help people with mental health issues, especially work.

His suggestion is simple, and it’s a 100% private site where you can find qualified therapists to consult on work-related mental health issues.

The Startup ensures that its methodology is based on all available scientific evidence on how to tackle these issues.

Mental health action plan

After the outbreak of the pandemic, mental health care has become one of the priority issues on the political agenda for 2022, especially for children and youth. For this reason, the government announced the creation of a mental health plan, which was awarded 5 million euros, which will be implemented in cooperation with the autonomous communities and has not yet been identified. Mental health is a challenge and a priority that is occupying an increasingly larger area in public policy.

Getting rid of this stigma is not an easy task. Moreover, to what extent do the companies themselves care about the mental health of their employees? The truth is that we live in a time of change, and the business culture has to adapt to it. It is necessary and helpful for employees to talk about their mental health problems.
