The Reconstruction Authority with Changes (ARCC) tops the ranking of the implementing entities of the national government for the third month in a row, with cumulative investments of 654 million Sudanese pounds so far in 2022, according to figures provided by the state friendly consulting portal. Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).

In this way, ARCC establishes itself as the most important implementer in the country, as in the first quarter of the year it represented 27.6% of the total implemented by the national government, higher than other entities in other sectors.

“This means that 3 out of 10 slippers invested by the national government, are implemented by the reconstruction authority with changes, which greatly affects the growth of the economy and job creation,” said the executive director of the authority. Entity of Amalia Moreno Vizcardo.

He noted that the results also show that in the first three months of the year, the amount implemented by the Resettlement Coordination Center (ARCC) exceeded the target of £578 million programmed by the Department of Economy and Finance.

In the first quarter of 2022, 255 million SP was invested in building health facilities, and 248 million SP in the reconstruction of schools. £140 million in comprehensive river flood control and storm drain solutions and $11 million in technical assistance.

Similarly, S/654 million represents an increase of 69% compared to the ARCC implementation recorded in the same period in 2021, which amounted to 386 million Sudanese pounds.

Moreno Vizcardo stressed that “the level of investment earned demonstrates the dynamics that exist in the implementation of these important projects that have a real change in the lives of people affected by the El Niño Costero phenomenon.”

Agreement with the United Kingdom

The CEO of ARCC explained that these projects are being implemented through the government agreement signed with the United Kingdom in June 2020 for the reconstruction of 15 health facilities, 74 schools and comprehensive solutions for 17 rivers, 5 streams and in addition to storm water drains for seven cities in the north of the country.

The 15 health facilities are located in the regions of Áncash (7), Piura (5), Lambayeque (1), La Libertad (1) and Lima (1) and were affected by the El Niño Costero phenomenon.

In addition, it is rebuilding 74 schools in Piura (29), Ancás (24), La Libertad (8), Lambayeque (5), Tumbes (3), Lima (2), Cajamarca (2), Huancavelica. (1) Comprehensive flood control solutions in 12 rivers and 3 coastal streams.

The interventions will benefit more than two million people in Piura, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, La Libertad, Lima, Ica, Tumbes, ncash and Huancavelica.
