Angola is interested in strengthening multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam

HANOI, November 16 (Prensa Latina) State Secretary of the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Domingos Vieira Lopez, during the official visit that continues today, endorsed his country’s interest in strengthening multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.

Vieira Lopes stressed during a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pham Quang Hue, that Angola wants to develop relations in economy, trade and investment at the same level as the existing political relations between the two countries.

According to the senior official, the fact that Angola promotes diversification of the economy will bring many opportunities to Vietnamese companies and they are expected to know how to take advantage of them.

While welcoming Vieira Lopez, the Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that the friendly relations and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Angola have developed and achieved many positive developments recently.

During the meeting, the two sides highlighted effective coordination and mutual support in international forums, and discussed procedures and guidelines aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, economic, trade, health and educational fields.

VNA News Agency stated that the two countries have great potential to enhance cooperation, noting the need to work on raising the value of bilateral trade to more than $100 million in the future, as well as holding the seventh meeting of the Vietnam-Angola Intergovernmental Committee.

Vieira Lopez was received by Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh, who expressed his country’s readiness to take bilateral relations to a new level.

As part of his activities in Vietnam, which will continue until the 19th, the Foreign Minister attended a photographic exhibition of more than 30 works on the Angolan culture, country and people, celebrating the 47th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
