Analyst said Nicaragua’s resignation is a complete disaster for the Organization of American States

Jorge Capilan, a political analyst, emphasized in Managua that Nicaragua’s resignation from the Organization of American States (OAS) represented the complete disaster for that organization as a colonial ministry.

According to the expert, the withdrawal of Managua from the aforementioned organization strengthens the community of Latin American and Caribbean countries as a mechanism for the integration of the countries of the region south of the Rio Grande River, without interference from the United States and Canada.

In an interview with Prensa Latina, Capelán noted that the Central American country had accelerated a process announced in November 2021, when it announced that it was resigning from membership in the Organization of American States.

He stressed that “the government decided to withdraw permanently from that body that aims to interfere in our country and work as the American Colonial Department.”

Likewise, he stated that with this decision, at the regional level, there are three countries, certainly outside the Organization of American States: Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.

The day before, the Sandinista National Liberation Front government described the OAS as an instrument of colonial administration, and endorsed its firm decision to leave that organization.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nicaragua, Denis Moncada, referred to the aforementioned body as a mechanism for violating rights and independence, “through sponsoring and strengthening interventions and invasions, and legitimizing coups in various forms and methods.”

“We will not exist in any instance of that diabolical instrument of the OAS that has been mistakenly called, which has been plagued with insults, crimes, insults, calamities and assaults that do not at any time or circumstance reflect national values, interests of honor, glory and victories,” the Secretary of State emphasized.
