Mexico City (Abro). Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa (American Club) and coach Javier Aguirre (Monterrey) were voted best in their respective leagues in the CONCACAF region in 2021 by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
In the differences corresponding to this area, Ochoa removed the Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas from Paris Saint-Germain.
Guillermo Ochoa closed 2021 acceptable, in general, although his recent performance with the national team sparked criticism of his work, after his performance against representatives of the United States and Canada, corresponding to the final six of CONCACAF, qualifying for the Qatar World Cup 2022.
This year, Ochoa was part of the U23 national team that won the bronze medal at the recent Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
According to FIFA, Javier Aguirre is the best coach for the club this year, after winning the so-called Concachambones with Monterrey last October.
For their part, three US representatives monopolized the distinctions in 2021: Greg Berhalter, Best National Coach; Brendan Aronson is the best player and Ricardo Pepe is the best young player.
