A graduate of Communications Engineering from the Faculty of Science gets an internship at IFT

As part of the first-class education offered by the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi (UASLP), the achievements of outstanding students stand out, such as the communications engineer, Javier Díaz Colunga, who managed to enter a gifted position at the Federal Institute of Communications (IFT), a coveted access program that combines Young graduates who can therefore look forward to a formal position at the institute.

Diaz Colunga indicated that he had always been interested in telecommunications, and while completing his degree, the panorama of jobs that engineers could access in this field opened up to him, all of which led him to understand that the Federal Institute of Communications is a benchmark for those who study this engineering.

After a seminar, he learned about the talent training program at IFT, so before finishing his degree, he was aware of the call and encouraged to participate, and was able to enter for his residency at the said institute.

He explained that in order to be accepted, he first had to fulfill the required profile, which was to be a recent graduate who had not worked in any field of communication, have an average above 8 and submit an essay, which, in his case, dealt with the internet about Satellite route in the orbits of Leo.

For his part, Dr. Marco Aurelio Cárdenas Juárez, Coordinator of Telecommunications Engineering, considered that there is pride in the college, given that in Mexico City, where the Federal Institute of Communications is located, “there are many universities that take year after hundreds of telecommunications engineers with excellent academic training Therefore, the competition also to win a place in these calls is very complex. On this occasion, only eight places were offered at the national level, four of which are for men and four for women.

Finally, Javier Diaz Colunga considered that there would be a radical change in his life, “leaving my comfort zone, my city, my family, my friends and being in a big city like Mexico City, full of opportunities and differences. This program aims to prepare you so that you can compete for a position and enter the Institute officially as a worker.”
