After four electoral blocs in which direct, secret and electronic voting began, university students renewed the boards of the academic unit that will assume their duties in extraordinary sessions to be held on April 30th.

According to UAP legislation, each academic unit council is the highest authority in schools of higher and higher education, as well as regional complexes and consists of elected representatives of faculty members, elected representatives of students and a representative of non-academic personnel. The unit councils are chaired by the alternate manager.

In the first block of elections, on March 22, the unit boards were renewed for nine high schools: the International Baccalaureate “May 5”, the secondary school “October 2, 1968”, the high school “Alfonso Calderon Moreno”, and “Emiliano” Zapata Salazar High School. The third block of the 2021 elections will be held on April 23, with formation Councils of Academic Units (CUA) Of 10 colleges and two regional complexes: College of Architecture, College of Agricultural Sciences and Livestock, College of Biological Sciences, College of Computer Science, College of Electronics Sciences, College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, College of Chemical Sciences, College of Engineering, College of Chemical Engineering and College of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Breeding Sciences, In addition to the central regional complex and the northern regional complex.

The fourth block for elections this year will be the appointment of the Academic Unit Councils (CUA) consisting of 10 colleges and two regional complexes: College of Philosophy and Arts, College of Psychology, College of Languages, College of Arts, College of Communication Sciences. , College of Plastic and Audiovisual Arts, College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, College of Nursing and College of Physical Culture; As well as the Northeast Regional Complex and the Southern Regional Complex.

With the four blocs of this year’s elections, the highest house of studies will renew the academic unit councils of 43 academic units. The new academic unit councils will start next Friday, April 30, 2021.
