According to a profile published a year ago by the National Institute of Fine Arts, she obtained a law degree and a master’s degree in modern literature, both at UNAM, and studied stylistics and art history at Complutense University of Madrid, and linguistics and literature at the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES). In her honor, the Dolores Castro State Poetry Awards, awarded by the Tlaxcaltika Institute for Culture and Dolores Castro for Narration and Poetry by Women, were created jointly by the Aguascalientes City Council, through the Aguascalientes Municipal Institute of Culture.
