Signature Entertainment has acquired the UK and Irish rights to the animated family adventure film. Patrick From Pink Parrot Sales. Its voice cast includes: Tatiana Maslany (Black Orphan, What the hell?), Mena Massoud (Aladdin, Star Wars: Ahsoka) and Tristan D. No no (long shot).
Patrick The film tells the story of “a brave and brilliant, but misfit, one-winged butterfly who hides in a milkweed trailer to take part in the migration of a lifetime,” according to the plot description. “Along with his best friend, a silly caterpillar named Marty, and Jennifer (Maslany), a butterfly who is afraid of heights, Patrick becomes an unlikely hero.”
The film is produced by Marie-Claude Beauchamp. (The Legend of Sarila) and Emily Christiansen (Oops! Where’s Noah?) directed by Sophie Roy (Jovi: On the rebound) From a screenplay by Heidi Voss (puppy school) and Lynn Sawatsky (Guava juice exhibition).
The deal was negotiated between Signature Entertainment’s Director of Development and Acquisitions, Katie Wilkinson, and Pink Parrot’s Head of International Sales and Acquisitions, Tania Pinto da Cunha.
Signature will release Patrick in cinemas in the UK and Ireland on April 19.
