Mexico City – The General Directorate of National Teams announced today, Friday, the invitation to play a friendly match against the United States next Saturday, July 13, at the Harrison Arena.
The team, led by Spaniard Pedro Lopez, will begin its training camp this Sunday morning in Mexico City, and will then move to New Jersey in the afternoon of the same day.
The national team will conduct five training sessions, including the field reconnaissance scheduled for Friday, July 12, before facing the “Stars and Stripes” team, which is preparing to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The last encounter was against the United States of America in the last match of the group stage, corresponding to the W Gold Cup, in which the Mexican team won 2-0 with goals from Lizbeth Ovalle and Xolos Femenil player Mayra Pelayo.
The players called up to face the United States are Karla Martinez, Blanca Felix and Celeste Espino of Chivas; Myra Delgadillo, Rebeca Bernal and Nicole Perez of Rayadas; Maria Sanchez, of the San Diego Wave; Greta Espinosa, Jacqueline Ovalle, Cristina Ferral, Maricarmen Reyes and Alexia Delgado, of Tigres.
Also receiving the call were Kiana Palacios, Kimberly Rodriguez, Jocelyn Origel, Nicolette Hernandez and Karen Luna from America; Karla Nieto and Estefan Barreras, from Pachuca; Diana Ordonez, from Houston Dash; Reina Reyes, from Portland FC; Scarlett Camberos from Bay FC and Mayra Pelayo from Xolas.
