It should be noted that the PAUTA program began its operations at the national level in 2007 at the Institute of Nuclear Sciences, at the suggestion of two prominent scientists at UNAM: Alejandro Frank and Jorge Hirsch. In 2008, the project arrived in Michoacán, and since 2017, the Morelia UNAM Cultural Center has been the official home of this very important national scientific programme.

ENES Morelia, through UNAM Centro Culture Morelia, works hard to continue supporting projects such as PAUTA Michoacán, with the aim of disseminating and promoting science among children, adolescents, young people and the general public.

Four years ago, the development of social impact research projects was implemented within the PAUTA model so that students could truly experience scientific research and propose solutions to their community’s problems. As an additional innovation, a “mentoring programme” has been implemented so that PAUTA members can contact leading scientists, who accompany and advise them as they develop their scientific projects. The 9th PAUTA Michoacán Science Fair will be held on June 25-26 at the UNAM Centro Culture Morelia facilities and at Calzada Fray Antonio de San Miguel.
