The 43rd Marine Science Congress is held in Concepción, the main meeting of the region in the country and organized by the Fisheries Research Institute and the Chilean Marine Science Society. As is customary, in each new edition of the Congress, it is honored that the Scientia Marina Award has been presented, an award that went to this The year goes to Dr. Doris Oliva Ekelund, a prominent Chilean scientist with a prolific career in marine research and natural resource management.
After receiving this recognition, Dr. Doris Oliva Ekelund commented: “For me, this recognition means something very important for my academic career, for what I have done in the last 50 years.
