(CNN) — Noelia Voigt, who was crowned Miss USA in November 2023, announced that she will resign from her position, explaining that the decision aims to prioritize her mental health.

He succeeds Voigt of Utah, Miss USA 2022, and Morgan Romano of North Carolina. She was the first American woman of Venezuelan descent to win the Miss USA title, according to her statement.
As a contestant, Voigt spoke in November about the importance of her roots during the final round of Q&A when she was asked what she would contribute to the Miss Universe organization, and promised to reach out to diverse communities across the United States.
A spokesperson for the Miss USA organization told CNN in a statement Monday that they support Voigt’s decision to step down and that “the well-being of our champions is a top priority, and we understand her need to prioritize herself at this time.” .
The organization said it is reviewing plans to “transfer responsibilities to a successor” and will soon announce a new Miss USA.
